My name is Joshua Seckman and I am a synthesist, sound designer and composer based in Atlanta, Georgia. My goal is to recreate any sound using subtractive, additive, wavetable, FM, phase distortion and physical modeling synthesis techniques along with analog and DSP-based signal processing and time-based effects.

My passion for sound creation emerged from my earliest experiences of music from the ambient pioneers Steve Roach, Suzanne Ciani, and Brian Eno featured on Hearts Of Space at bedtime, and a Casio CA-110 I received as a baby, which showed me the possibility of creating instrument sounds from basic waveforms.  These early listening experiences provided the foundation for an increased awareness of my auditory environment and a reference point for seeking and creating new music to serve a similar purpose.

I earned an Associate of Applied Science in Audio Post-Production at Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, where I learned to understand what I hear in terms of frequency ranges, dynamics and harmonic content,   and received recording, engineering and production training in Pro Tools, Ableton Live, and iZotope RX.

Pre-pandemic, I freelanced as an AV/Breakout Tech at conventions, conferences and events around Atlanta. Beyond the synthesizer, my other favorite musical instrument is the Native American Flute.
